A Beacon of Hope to the Ultimate Healing
Regardless of the multiple suggested external causes for disease including societal decline, drugs, wars, natural disasters, in an always-on constant news cycle of stress-inducing algorithm driven addiction, leading to an increase in terminal illness, stage-4 cancers, incurable diseases, and tumors, especially among normally healthy young people, the ultimate health concern is DEATH.
So why does a Christian pray for God’s miraculous healing when a person healed from blindness, disease, leprosy, or even supernaturally raised from the dead, will eventually die of old age?
The supernatural healing of God serves as a lighthouse beam of light that the message of the Gospel is the only lasting cure in a sea of foreboding uncertainty leading us to the safe harbor of heaven. The ultimate healing for the only incurable disease — DEATH — has already been provided for through the saving work of Jesus Christ through his sacrificial death and resurrection. Humans have been cured, but they must choose to accept this free gift of salvation.
“O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
After spending time this morning on ChatGPT addressing the current era of increasing cancers and possible causes, and in some cases difficult to prove individual causal effects, but acknowledging the cascading effects on the immune system of all of the negative factors in modern society, I thought a poem expressing the conclusion to this research trail to be most enlightening.
Supernatural healing is a signpost, not the cure; that Jesus heals bodies to prove He can heal souls; and that eternal life, not temporary wellness, is the real gift.
Jesus heals the worst disease of all
He touched the blind, they saw the light,
The lame stood up in full delight.
The leper’s skin, once raw and torn,
Was healed as smooth as when newborn.
The crowds stood still. The winds obeyed.
The demons fled. The seas were swayed.
But every healed and freed and blessed
Would one day still be laid to rest.
So why the miracles? Why the sign?
If every body fades with time?
Why raise the dead if death still came?
Why heal the sick who’d die the same?
It wasn’t just to end the pain—
But prove the Son of God had reign.
Each miracle, a trumpet cry:
“Believe in Me, and you won’t die!”
For death, not sickness, is the thief,
The root beneath the world’s deep grief.
And Christ alone, through cross and grave,
Can heal the soul He came to save.
He heals today—but more than flesh,
He mends the soul, He makes it fresh.
Each healing here, a glimpse, a spark
Of heaven’s light within the dark.
So don’t just seek a pain relieved—
Seek life eternal, soul retrieved.
The cure you crave is not just breath,
But joy that outlives time and death.
