Gospel Roses
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” (Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare).
This quote reminds me that the beauty and fragrance of a rose can be used to capture a person’s affection and attention. Then when we have their attention we can share the beauty and sweetness of a rose by another name — the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Giving a rose on the street might go like this:
“Hi, would you like a rose?” (Jesus Follower)
“How much are they?” (Passerby)
“They are FREE – just like God’s love! You can learn more on the card attached to the rose.” (Jesus Follower)
“Thank you very much!” (Passerby)

Here’s a few roses that we prepped for handing out.
On Valentine’s Day we passed out 100 roses to people walking around our town heading out to dinner. Most everyone was receptive – women, men, boys, and girls. The women and girls wanted them for themselves and the men and boys gave them to the special women in their lives who they were taking out to dinner.
